Nothing better than a big yummy breakfast! I did it for Sun lunch today as that is when our college kids are home to eat and everyone loved it! Hubby and I are empty nesters and we go to a wonderful Greek restaurant for a delicious breakfast for only $1.99 on Sat mornings! Such a luxury after raising five children!

I am a few years behind you in this journey to healthy/natural eating.
I make strides and then will read something and feel like I have so far to go yet.
I’m not discouraged, though. I just keep telling myself to make changes, one at a time.
My family has been mostly adaptable, but I will say that there’s still quite a fight during many meals. I tried the orange creamy cooler tonight for an after dinner treat, and while all but one of my family members drank it and enjoyed it, they all still wanted the cookies that extended family brought over today as well. I can’t say I blame them.
I have learned to pick my battles w/ my kids. I want our eating experiences to be enjoyable.
So, I’m wondering if you have any tips for me in helping make these changes for myself and my family more easy to “digest”. :)

This topic is on my list for a future post. I’m asked this a lot!

Would you mind giving us the recipe for your “healthier” fried chicken? That would be a hit because we enjoy it but don’t want to pay in money or fat. Thank you!!!
Laura says
This recipe is actually in my What to do with the Chicken in Your Kitchen ebook: https://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com/heavenly-homemakers-shop

How do you make the gravy? I use your sausage recipe, but would be interested in how to make the gravy part. Thanks!

Laura,
My middle child is turning 7 in two weeks! We have a large family and immediates always come for dinner and dessert, my question to you is this: Hayden asked for gravy and biscuits for dinner, biscuits for a crowd no problem, but have you ever had to keep gravy warm for around 20 people? Please let me know if you can help! Thanks Angie
Laura says
I’d say to keep in in a crock pot on low and stir frequently!
Charlotte says
You could put your gravy in a crock pot on low or warm.It could stay for a long time this way.
