Last weekend I watched my friend’s two kids while she and her husband spent some time helping her mother as she recovers from a recent surgery.
Keeping her kids was no trouble for me because they are SUCH good kids. They just played together with my kids and kept each other happy for hours. In fact, they were here while I was in the middle of my cooking and baking marathon…and it was EASY. Yeah, they can come over ANY TIME.
Imagine my surprise when my friend showed up at the end of the day with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me! Seriously…her kids made my day so much easier…I should have given her some flowers!
My beautiful pink flowers in the middle of a snowy, cloudy winter have been such a cheerful addition to my kitchen. It’s amazing what something simple like a bouquet of flowers can do to lift a person’s spirits. Hooray for flowers in the winter!

Ahhh! I love tulips! There is something so cheery, refreshing, and symbolic of new life in them. Tulips are the theme of my kitchen and have been for about 20 years. I’m looking forward to when the over 3 feet of snow we’ll have this week melts and tulips begin to pop up next month where the snow once was… such a sign of hope!

Pink tulips are my favorite. I think it would be so neat to have a vase of fresh flowers on my table at all times. But, not economical.

Just the picture of those tulips made me smile……maybe I need to get some for my kitchen, too. :)

Tulips, yes : a little taste of spring, isn’t it ? What a great attention !
Today we are SOOOOO grateful because yesterday we received a positive answer for our 17 son’s future studies : he will be able to make an international master of computer science here in Paris ! We are so proud of him and so blessed because he will be able to stay at home some more years, and I will be able to pamper him some more… (are we all women “scratched” to our children, or is it just me ?). Don’t know if you would say “scratched” ? God bless you all !
Today’s meditation is ” God gives me the desires of my heart” : it could not have come better !

First I’m always thankful to God for giving me one more day to be w/my family and to continue on for His plan for my life.
Second, I’m thankful for Laura (yes, you Laura) because of your easy recipe for bread I was able to make my FIRST 2 loaves of bread over the weekend which were an absolute hit w/the family. Yhe tutorial on kneading bread was so simple and easy, and as much as I thought it would be hard and no do-able it was the opposite! Altho, my loaves weren’t the prettiest, it didn’t matter, they were still tasty! And in time, and practice, they will become prettier!
So thank you again Laura!
PS: Maybe you could give a tutorial on how to slice bread lol. I can’t get my slices straight, or even.

What a blessing you were to her! :D
Those are georgeous! Tulips are my favorite flower. Got to live in Holland when my dad was stationed there many years ago, and they had HUGE fields of them!

I just linked up my brand new blog with you for the first time. I’m not even sure I was coherent, but I’m excited to team up with you on some things finally. I appreciate your ministry, and want to try my own hand at it. I really like those tulips!

I do love tulips! We have been having such warm weather in the Skagit Valley, Wa that I am sure the tulips will come early this year. (Each year we have a BIG Tulip Festival, look online sometime, it is beautiful.)
