Well…today I pulled a “pajama day”.
I’ve been going non-stop for weeks now. The garden is finally slowing down, so I think I’m almost finished canning. Soccer? It won’t stop for a while. I’m actually thinking about pitching a tent at the soccer complex and just moving in for a few weeks. It might be easier than running back and forth so much.
Anyway…my busy-ness level culminated yesterday into a headache that would not go away. This morning when I woke up…it was still there. I got up long enough to realize that I could not get up. So I went back to bed and told Matt that I’d decided to take the morning off. He worked on trying to massage away the headache before feeding the boys and heading off to work.
Then…we had a school morning (sort of) in our jammies in Mommy’s bed. It was great (in a “please don’t shake the bed, my head hurts” sort of way). Who knew so many boys and math books could fit on a bed at the same time?
Then of course Justus, my chef, made me stay in bed while he made lunch. I didn’t argue.
Taking the day off is just what I needed to do today. Tomorrow…I’ll get dressed. :) Today…I had a day of rest. Wow am I thankful!

Hey… I had one of those today too! I got up and moved around a bit more than you did, but we ALL stayed in our jammies, all day long. :-)

So glad you got a pajama day. What a blessing! And a great way to model to your kids that we all need to take time to rest from time to time!

What great kids you have. How wonderful that you were able to have a flexible PJ school day. Sorry about your head ache though.

It’s so great when everyone pitches in like that. I was wondering if you (or others) have an inexpensive source for canning jar lids. Thank you!

Bless your heart! Said a prayer for you just now. You have what I’ve had for almost a week, which was followed a few days later with a cough. Hang in there. In this part of Ohio where I live, this is the “virus” that’s going around, so says the dr.

Hope your headache is feeling better. A jammie day sounds really nice right now!

We had a pajama day yesterday as well! Since I cannot drive my van (just went over mileage for oil change – we’re part of a strict warranty so if I drive it, I forfeit the warranty that completely covers the engine and gives us free oil changes for the life of the van), we are at home again today. It’s looking like pajama day 2 is in the cards!

Sorry about your headache but don’t you just love pyjama days?
I had a half day as we slept in and I had to wait for the postman with Matt’s new electric guitar (did I really say yes to it?) and I knew that Dan wouldn’t open the door as it is one of the things he can’t cope with! Luckily Matt had just come back from uni when it arrived. I carried on pyjama-ing it up for a bit longer as I was fuelling my new obsession (oops I really do mean hobby!).
Thanks for hosting Gratituesday and reminding me each week that there are lots of things in my life that I have that I can feel thankful for. It’s a real life saver.
Blessings,

Ugh, those headaches you wake up with are the worst! Any tricks for getting rid of them without resorting to over-the-counter medication?
