I have started this post and deleted this post about four times.
God did something really awesome this weekend at our family reunion and I want to share it with you because it is so great and God is so great.
But I guess I just really can’t. It’s sort of a private family matter and I can’t figure out how to write this post without saying too much or saying too little and confusing you all to pieces.
Can I just tell you that God did something terrific at our family reunion this weekend? And that I couldn’t even sleep Friday night because what happened was something I’ve been praying about for around ten years? And that even though it was maybe just a little thing that might not amount to the miracle we’ve all been praying for…it might be the first step toward something wonderful?
I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting this was. And is. And…how much more I am in prayer about the situation now.
God answers prayer. Sometimes it takes over ten years. And it may take many more years for our continued prayer about this situation to become the miracle we’re asking for.
But I believe that God’s power is at work in this. Without a doubt, God’s power is more powerful than any other. I’m on my knees. And…even though I’m being vague…I’d appreciate it if you’d join me.
God’s goodness shouted out to me this weekend. Don’t you love it when that happens?

I love to read things like this. God is awesome and amazing and so worthy of our praise.
I am often able to look back with the benefit of hindsight and see everywhere God’s timing proved perfect. It’s possible that in time, even if it’s another 10 years, you’ll be able to see the same.
God answers prayers – in His perfect time.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Hey, I don’t need much of a reason to praise God. And this sounds like it’s a doozy! Whoo hoo God!

Praise God! How awesome! Even without all the details I got goosebumps reading your post! I just love to hear how God is working, and it is encouraging to me to keep praying even if it means years and years!

oh, thank you for this. It is just what I needed. I have been praying for something for over 7 years and recently have been feeling as if it might never happen (which I also need to trust the Lord with), but He keeps reminding me that His ways are SO much better than what I could even imagine. I just keep trusting Him.
He has always proved Himself faithful.
Blessings!

I have quoted these verse A LOT in the last few days:
.
“I waited patiently on the LORD; And He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay;
.
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
.
And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
.
Many will see and fear, And will trust in the LORD.
.
How blessed is the man and woman who have made the LORD their trust…”
.
Psalm 40:1-4

I will join you in prayer, my sister! We also are praising God for an answer to prayer this week. My 3 year old daughter is having to have an MRI and we were told we could not be seen until September…but the awesome lady at our doctor’s office made some calls and got us in to a children’s hospital an hour away for August 3rd! We had specifically been praying for us to get the MRI sooner…and GOD DID IT! WOOOOOHOOOO!

Oh, that sounds awesome and exciting for your family! God’s timing is always perfect!
I don’t have a Gratituesday post this week, I had other things to get out, but I am sending my readers over this week anyways. I just know they will be blessed by your testimony- sometimes the details aren’t necessary.

Our family is going through some very hard times at the moment (me in particular) but this week I have something to be truly grateful for. I’ve written about it on my blog as I’m so proud of my son’s achievements. It is wonderful to read the other stories here and the wonderful scriptures that are bringing such support to my troubled spirit. I hope that God continues to bless each of you and those you love. Please pray that he helps me to find a solution to my problems soon.

Family situations are often the most difficult– praying for things to happen in people’s hearts and lives is so much more personal when it’s family!
Thank you for the reminder to never give up :)

Your post is perfect! We don’t need to know the details, it is enough to be reminded that God is faithful to answer our prayers. Even those that we have been praying for years and years. In His time for His will!!

I do know what you mean. My dad prayed for 30 years that his mother would humble her pride and become a Christian. 30 years! Then she got cancer. It got to the point where she forbade him to even MENTION accepting the gospel to her. But one woman in our congregation felt a strong compelling (I KNOW by the Holy Spirit) to write to my grandmother (unbeknownst to my dad). On my dad’s next visit, Grandma asked HIM to answer Bible questions and in just a little while my dad got to baptize his mother into Christ! Less than two weeks after that, she went home. God is amazing.
I’m happy for you and do praise God with you. He is good.

I don’t have a blog of my own, but enjoy reading yours. I love your Gratituesday and wanted to add on one of my own about God answering prayers.
I am nearing the end of a 16 month maternity leave and was praying about the child care for our 3 young children. My husband and I decided it was important to find someone to come to our home to watch the kids. I was praying about it ALOT. I knew He would find THE person for us but I was still a little bit worked up about it. Finally my husband said, “Don’t do anything about it for a week.” Sure enough 5 days later, through a conversation with a woman from our church, we have our sitter! She answers all of our “It would be nice if…” (has had her own kids, but older kids, high school age, live nearby, patient, be a CHRISTIAN.) This situation answers prayers she was sending up, too. I am so thankful that He is faithful to us for everything!
