Last night before bed, I pulled some Whole Wheat Butterhorns out of the freezer to thaw and rise so that we could have them with our lunch today.
Correction.
I was in bed already and beginning to relax when I remembered that I had intended to get the butterhorns out of the freezer. I then had to wrestle around in my head while I tried to decide whether or not it was worth it to get up and get them out as planned.
We were planning to invite college students over to share our lunch, and I knew they would love them and that they would help our lunch “stretch” a little farther. So I went ahead and got up. Oh, it was so worth it. These butterhorns are yummy! And the college students, as well as our family, were very happy to eat them today. :)
Don’t worry. I made more than just these few.
This was the second round I pulled out of the oven.

Those butterhorns look great! When you froze them, were they baked or unbaked first? Thanks!
Laura says
I froze them unbaked, then thawed them on the counter (covered) overnight and all morning, then baked them when we got home from church.

Do/can you can your Ranch Dressing? We go thru it like water! I would love to make about 6mon of it at a time or would have to do it several times a week.
Laura says
We go through it really quickly too, but no, I don’t can it. I wouldn’t know how!

I wanted to tell you that I made your butterhorns last night…1 batch I baked off right away to have with dinner…the rest I placed in the freezer for future meals.
Let me tell you…..They are DELISH! Definitely a “keeper” recipe!
I also whipped up a batch of your Ranch dressing…and soaked my cut up chicken in it prior to tossing them into whole wheat bread crumbs (with a little paprika added to the bread crumbs)… Let me tell you…between my hubby and my son…I’m lucky to have ANY left for my son’s lunches this week! LOL
Your ranch recipe is wonderful…I wouldn’t have ranch dressing/dip any other way!
Laura…I cannot tell you what a Blessing you have been to me and my family. You have inspired….made me laugh….and assisted in helping me feed my family in a healthier way.
Thank you!

We are working on using up freezer items before we make a 2000 mile move from Texas to Maine!!
Pesto Chicken Pasta (an absolute hit! I just posted the recipe!), Fajita kits from the freezer, Crock Pot Rotisserie Chicken…
My daughter and I are also working on building up our collection of Easy Bake Oven Recipes! We have been cooking up a storm on her easy bake, changing recipes to make them taste better and making up our own! Easy Bake Oven refills are expensive and don’t really build up cooking skills. Making our own from scratch has Ava on Child Pro Cooking Levels :) and we are getting “out of the box”…
I have many new recipes in my weekly menu this week!
