Want to Follow Along While I Have a Baking Marathon?

pb_choc_granola_2

Since we just got home from a big trip, I’m finding that I don’t have a lot of ready-made foods on hand.  It’s only 71° today (super nice!) and the temps are supposed to start creeping up during the next few days.  Therefore, I decided to have a spur of the moment baking/cooking marathon before my kitchen gets too hot.  In other words: Look out, kids. I’m getting ready to dirty lots of dishes for you to wash.

I’ll take pictures to post Saturday so that I can share how this goes.

Here’s what I have in mind to make, based on what I have on hand in my freezers, fridge, and pantry:

I’ll either make all of it, some of it, other stuff instead, or all of the above.  How’s that for being non-committal?

Doing any extra cooking this weekend?  Or are you traveling instead?

Excited to see what you make! I’d love to do some extra cooking, but right now I only have a budget for what we are eating this moment haha! God always provides though!

Baking days are so exciting!! :) We are in the process of moving, so while packing a few boxes and a few other things I have managed to do some baking the past couple of days. I made two batches of Baked Oatmeal cups, whole wheat cinnamon rolls, whole wheat dinner rolls, two batches of chewy granola bars, and two recipes of Cheesy Beef and Rice Casserole. I look forward to seeing and reading about all that you get done today Laura!! Enjoy!!!

    Hi Laura,

Lots of cooking here today too! I made a large batch of chicken enchilada bake! One for lunch today, one for a new mommy, and two for the freezer! We love this stuff! So yummy!! Especially when I have homemade sour cream on hand. Here’s the recipe I use for enchilada sauce: http://schooldays365.com/2013/05/yummy-chicken-enchilada-bake/#post-324

I also made 2 loaves of your honey whole wheat bread. Last one in the oven now. So yummy! Thanks for the recipe.

Oh, yeah and bone broth simmering from the chicken I used in the enchilada recipe. I have enjoyed my day in the kitchen!

After several hot humid days in the high 80s (yuck!) we had a wonderful cool spell with temps in the 60s. A baking marathon is exactly what I did, too! I love to cook and bake but REALLY hate turning on the oven when it is hot and sticky!
