The Princess Looking Back at Me…Children’s Book Giveaway!
ByCheck me out! I just got a girly-girl book in the mail!!! Don’t see many of those around my house, do we?

The Princess Looking Back at Me is a children’s book written by Tiana Walker and illustrated by Melissa Daniels.
I’m not sure if this makes sense…but I think the book is both beautiful…and cute…at the same time! I could just stare at the illustrations for hours…which is what I envision a little girl doing as the story is being read to her.
The story is interactive, with pictures replacing some of the words so little girls can participate in the reading. The story is also poetic in form. I love reading books that rhyme!
At the end of the book…there’s even a real mirror inside…so that your little girl can see that she too is a beautiful princess!
The book doesn’t mention anything about being God’s princess (which makes the book appealing to a broader audience)…but I think it would be very easy to work a discussion about how we are all God’s princesses during and after reading the story.
I may have a hard time giving this one up, because it really is such a sweet book to look at…but really…the book was sent to me as a giveaway to one of you!
SO, have a little girl in your life who would enjoy The Princess Looking Back at Me?!
Leave a comment letting us know who you’d like to give this book to! I’ll draw a random winner on Monday, December 21!

Awwww, what a neat book!!! I have 2 Granddaughters that would love this book!! Makenzie is 7 yrs old; and Alaina is 4! Alaina just recently went in for some vaccinations and all the while driving there, her mommy kept telling her what a big girl she was, and that because she was FOUR yrs old, she thought those shots wouldn’t even hurt her now. Well, you guessed it, Mommy’s talk worked! I got a phone call afterward from Alaina! “Nonnie, guess what? I got a shot today and IT DIDN’T EVEN HURT! I am 4 yrs old now Nonnie, so it didn’t hurt!” Can you guess how many times this Nonnie agreed with her being a BIG GIRL!!! :)

What a lovely book! I would read it with my own precious princess, Naomi, who is 11. She would really enjoy it. I love finding girly things like this, as being mommy to a little girl is something I am learning to do as I go! You see, Naomi has three grown brothers, and she came home to us from China when she was five years old. It has been a wonderful, blessed, remarkable adventure! Thanks for the terrific blog. I enjoy it very much and learn so much! Warmly, Karen :-)

I would love to have this book for my almost two year old daughter. We adopted her as an infant. We are Caucasian; she is biracial (African American/Caucasian). And while she may not yet be able to verbalize the differences she sees between us, her brother, and herself, I know soon enough there will be questions. And I plan on doing all that I can to teach her that she is beautiful, no matter what color her skin is. And of course that she is God’s princess. I could go on and on about how perfect this book would be for her, as it relates not only to her skin color, but also her adoption; but I don’t want to write too much. Please give my sweet, precious, beautiful little Lexi this book for Christmas! or for her birthday in March, ha ha! Thank you! (and thank you for all your wonderful newsletters, which I look forward to getting each day).
P.S. we plan on adopting transracially again, so for sure more than one child will be blessed and encouraged by the book’s message.

I would love to win this for my adorable 2 year old girl who is obsessed with princesses. It is hard to find princess things that still look like a little girl, and not a Barbie!

Hi Laura,
I would give this book to our 7-year old daughter whom we adopted from Haiti just under 7 years ago. She looks just like the little girl on the cover of the book. It is because of her and her brother that my favorite color is brown. Yes, I’ve told her that she is “God’s princess”.

Thank you for giving up this very special book to share with your readers. I would love to recieve this book to give it to my daughter, however, God is our first priority in our family and we keep our focus on Him. If this book does not come to me, I will be very happy that it is going to another little girl who will learn that she is beautiful in His sight. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work =)

Oh Laura, I never enter into these give a ways but when I saw this book I just had to. My daughter Cori is 2 and a half and just knows she is the prettiest princess of them all. She can’t wait to go see the Princess and The Frog (the new disney movie). But this seems like such a cute book and my little girly girl would adore it.

I have a beautiful 3 year old princess Hannah that would LOVE this beautiful book. Hannah is truly God’s special little princess. We were blessed to have her officially named our forever princess last month on National Adoption Day. My princess was not born from belly…but she was born in my heart the day she entered our home and our lives. We are grateful to be chosen by God to raise this little princess. Princess Hannah is all girl and LOVES books and looking in the mirror to see her beautiful face (don’t all girls?).
How wonderful what you are doing for some lucky little girl. God bless you!
