Some Great Gift Deals from Amazon

I love Amazon!  I don’t believe I have bought one gift at a store yet this year.  All of my shopping has been done online and delivered right to my door.  Ah, the beauty of technology.  :)

Here are some great deals I’ve found on gift ideas from Amazon.  My kids are too grown up now for some of these (like the Leap Frog), so if I can’t take advantage, at least some of you can!

~ The Leap Frog My Own Leaptop is almost half price at only $12.99 today!

~  You can get a 250 piece Mega Bloks Microbloks Tub for just $6.99.  This is a great starter set.  Or, get a 1000 piece Mega Bloks Microbloks Bucket for just $23.99 – an even better deal!   Malachi, my Lego and Mega Blok expert, assures me that the two work interchangeably and that this would make a great gift.   (He didn’t actually use the word interchangeably…)  :)

The Sound of Music 3 Disc DVD Collection is just $14.96 for the set.

~ I’m not putting a picture of this one up, just in case my kids see it – nor am I going to spell it out right here.  But, our family loves games!!  The kids will be finding THIS ONE under the tree this year.  Don’t tell!  I’m featuring it today because quite a nice chunk has been knocked off the price.  ;)

I like how the LeapFrog Laptop says it’s for ages 2+, and the purchase page warns that it has small parts and isn’t for children under 3…
I am trying to save money for my husband’s present, your showing me these awesome deals isn’t helping! ;)

We are big Amazon shoppers here, and have been spoiled by it. Its such a drag to have to go to an actual store and look for things : ) Between Amazon and Etsy, we can find anything we could possibly want to buy.

I just found a great sale on a beautiful hardbound book of The Hobbit on Amazon – was in the $20′s … now only around $11! Just the right gift for someone I know who wants a copy to read before seeing the movie! (-:

Sad. :( Guess the sale price is over – although that’s still a little bit of a discount.

    Thank you Laura!
The kids and I watched the Sound of Music last summer (2011) for the first time and loved it and it’s been so expensive so I haven’t purchased it. This is a great price so I got it!!

What a great ministry! I love the idea of jewelry being a conversation starter for the sake of helping women around the world! Praise God.

    Laura,

I hate to complain… because I have enjoyed your website (especially in the past) as I have read for over a year. However… I am starting to really not enjoy it as much as I use to, due to the fact that it seems like all you send out anymore is a notification of a sale here, a sale there (knowing that you get a kickback from it all). I understand that this is your families income, however I do wish that there was ALOT less “salesperson” going on. My husband has even made the comment lately, to delete your website due to all it is is an advertisement website anymore. I have bought your ebooks, enjoyed some of your recipes and have very much enjoyed hearing of our gracious Lord throughout your website. Your family is so cute and I am thankful for so many things that you have said throughout. I am sorry to have said my feelings toward your “advertisements”, and I would hate to not read your funny moments anymore. I would just like to see ALOT less selling, please. Thanks!

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this and have definitely recognized that lately there have been LOTS of “deals and sales” posts – way more than normal. I had posted earlier in November to “warn” everyone of this, with Christmas coming. I’m working very hard to balance these particular posts with all of the “regular” posts – like the 12 Days of Gifts in a Jar posts, Real Food MakeOver posts, Gratituesday posts, Dollar Menu Posts, and other random, for fun posts. There aren’t any less regular posts than I typically share, just more deals posts sprinkled in.

I truly am doing this to bring attention to great products my family loves or deals I feel would benefit my readers. And yes, it does bring my family income, which is a wonderful blessing. Don’t hesitate to skip over any of the deals post that you don’t want to look at – and just scroll through and read the informational and fun posts that you are interested in.

AND, know that this time of year is unusual in the amount of deals I promote so in a week or two, things will get back to “normal”. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and I hope this helps explain where I’m coming from on this. I do hope you’ll continue to read here! :)

I thank you for your reply, and I look forward to a more “normal”. As I have felt this way for at least 6 months or so, maybe just with your holiday deals it has been a bit overwhelming. I hope that your family has a great and blessed holiday and I look forward to a new year of ALOT less sales and deals! And alot more of your great website as before!

    Dear Laura,

I love your posts, recipes, blogs, and gift ideas. Please don’t change a thing. I appreciate all of the tips & links to great prices & great products just as much as I appreciate all of the articles, recipes, and other posts. I never feel overwhelmed by them at all. I just scroll past any that I don’t need & am grateful for the many things that you send that I DO need. I know that it takes YOUR time to do all of that shopping around & I appreciate what you share!

You are a blessing to so many of us, and I am glad that you are able to generate some kind of income from your referrals, etc. You deserve it! You give so freely of your time, your home, & your family! It’s only right, that there should be some benefit to one who shares so much!

So keep those posts & links coming!

You have blessed my family more than you may know!

May God’s richest blessings be yours!

Personally, I like seeing all the items that are on sale, seeing things that your family loves, seeing new products. If you are willing to put the effort into posting about them and providing links, then you deserve the potential “kickbacks” that result. I live an hour from a sizeable city, and only have a smallish Walmart and a Kroger in my town, so I love to hear about things that my family might like without having to drive an hour away.

I, too was a big fan of Amazon, until I read that the owners donated a large sum of money to promote gay marriage (this was after the uproar over Chik-Fil-A’s owners support of traditional marriage). I support the Amazon owner’s right to donate money to their chosen cause, just as I support Chik-Fil-A’s owners right to free speech. I choose to support Chik-Fil-A with my business, and have chosen not to support Amazon—-I deleted my Amazon account.
