~ The Victorio Food Strainer I talked about this week seems to be still priced at $47, which is a great deal! It also looks like they only have a few left in stock at this point.
~ Tropical Tradition’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is only $29.50 for two 32 ounce jars. This is their highest quality, awesome oil that has a wonderful coconutty flavor. In addition, their Coconut Oil Soap, which is the only kind I use for Malachi’s sensitive skin, is on sale $9.00 for three bars.
~ Don’t forget the Lilla Rose Clearance Sale which ends July 28 at midnight.

Hi Laura,
Can you please tell me why coconut oil is better for you than the regular shortening like Crisco ??? Since they both are solid …..
I was telling my friend about coconut oil and when she went to purchase it, she was surprised that it was solid and not liquid like OIL is….I could not answer her question….I still have not purchased any myself, but would if it is better for you than just regular oil…..will appreciate hearing what you have to say….Thanks

Coconut oil is much better than regular shortening. I love it and so appreciate its health qualities. Here is a post I wrote about coconut oil that will answer many of your questions: http://heavenlyhomemakers.com/coconut-oil-why-it-is-good-for-you-and-where-to-buy-it

Coconut oil is not genetically modified (cloned) like Crisco is.

Our Costco here in NC is having coconut oil in 54 ounce containers for $16.99. Their ad says $18.99 but the actual in-store item is $16.99, although it is a different brand. It’s Carrington Farms, label says “Pure, unrefined, cold pressed 100% organic extra virgin, product of the Philppines, distributor in Paramus, NJ. It’s delicious! I know all Costco stores don’t carry the same items, but you never know!

Kentucky Lady 717 – I just wanted to share with you that I have used Carrington Farms products and i love them! Carrington Farms carries a line of organic flax seed and now they have added the coconut oil. I use the Flax Paks, which are single serving size packets of milled flax seed practically every morning in my yogurt. I just recently started using the coconut oil and I am absolutely in love with it. I cook with it and use it as a leave in conditioner for my hair.
