Which would you rather have? A summer full of hot and dry 104° days…or lots of biting mosquitos? I’m not sure which one is more or less pleasant, but I do have to say that I have not minded that even though it has been one hot and dry summer, there have been fewer mosquitos this year than is typical for Nebraska.
What our family has had to fight this year, however, is chigger bites. Those little pests like to attack my kids – or even us adults while we’re gardening and weeding. Talk about miserable!
Since Redmond Trading (my very favorite source for healthy Real Sea Salt) had sent me a package a few months ago of several of their products, I was so grateful that they had included a tube of their Clay First Aid. It said on the front that it helps “burns, cuts, abrasions, insect bites, bruises, rashes, bee stings, blisters, poison oak, poison ivy, and dry, itchy skin”, so as soon as one of my boys came to me complaining that he couldn’t sleep because of his itchy, miserable chigger bites, I grabbed it and had him cake it onto each bite.
He did. And then he went right to sleep. Bliss.
Typically, chiggers can make my kids miserable for up to two weeks. With the Redmond First Aid, they healed up so much faster. I am so grateful for a product that not only offers immediate relief, it also speeds the healing process!
I can’t wait for one of us to get into some poison ivy to see how it works on that. KIDDING! I’m totally kidding. So totally kidding. But well, it sure is nice to know that we’ve got a product on hand to help with so many different ailments.
How does Redmond Clay work? Here’s a quote from their website that explains it better than I can:
At a molecular level, Redmond has a negative electrical charge, attracting positively charged toxins. The formation of bentonite resembles tiny business card shapes, with negatively charged wide surfaces and positively charged edges, providing a surprisingly high surface area and powerful drawing effect. As most toxins are positively charged, clay naturally rids the body of toxins as it pulls and holds the toxins into its core.
I love that this is a completely natural and pure form of removing toxins. What a great product to keep my family healthy!
