Boy - those other comments really got me thinking! Textures are my biggest problem. Banana definitely gets to me. I can eat it if it is sliced super thin and swimming in a bowl of milk. Don't ask me why! I absolutely HATE lamb and veal - even if I try it without knowing that it is a baby animal! I also long to love fresh tomatoes but, once again, texture wins. I love them cooked pretty much any way though.

My fav way to eat bananas is to take a jar of crunchy (real) peanut butter and a butterknife... peel the banana skin back just a little way... spread on some of the peanut butter, eat... then repeat the process. (Apples are also good this way. Just slice or wedge and spread w pb and eat.) Bananas are so full of hard-to-get minerals. Try them sliced on waffles or pancakes and pour on your syrup or honey(sprinkle w walnuts - mmmm). Mix small chunks in with strawberries. One thing... you may be eating them too green. They are slimier then. Be sure they have a few freckles... that means the sugar has released and they won't be so slimy.

Oh my word, I am so picky! I dislike hot dogs, but I'll eat them if I have to, I don't really like eggs, unless they are mixed with other things. This is weird, I don't really like bread. I'll usually just eat the filling in my sandwich and give the bread to my husband. I really don't care for bananas, and the taste of mayonnaise, walnuts, or toffee makes me gag.

That being said, I have never met a vegetable I didn't like, and ice cream is always a winner in my book!

I'm with you on bananas. I can't think of anything else I don't like, or won't at least try, but a plain ol' banana - no way! I used to be able to tolerate them if they were cut in penny slices, but now I can't even eat them that way. I do, however, love all things cooked with bananas - so, I'm pretty sure it's just something with the texture of the raw banana. Go figure. It is nice to know it's not "just me" though! By the way, my 8yo ds will eat EVERY fruit except banana and kiwi - and my 5yo ds will ONLY eat bananas! They DO keep life interesting!

Well, I never tried these, but I will NEVER eat them. Bison, mutton, lamb, venison, rabbit, or organ meat.

I can't eat raw carrots, I tried one time and actually got sick. And I can't eat raw onions, or any onions besides Vidalia, horrible indigestion! same w/peppers!

Step, tofu usually takes on the flavor of whatever you are cooking it w/. Tofu by itself is just nasty lol. But I LOVE it in Chinese food! I can see the chunks of it, but it has the flavors of the sauces in the food.

HI,
I'm new to reading your blog but just had to tell you what food I just recently found that I DON'T like--that is beets! Icky! I think they taste and smell like dirt! I eat WAY more veggies than I used to and haven't found many things I don't like--until beets:)

I'm a pretty good eater, always have been. That said, I can't stand firm tofu at all -- yuck! I will put silken in a smoothie, but if I can see the cubes of tofu, I won't eat it.

I'm also not a fan of anything raw that should be cooked (IMO, of course ;)). No organ meats, brains, tripe or other aliens -- bleck!

Ok~ I don't feel as silly now. I HATE bananas!!! They are so gross that if I eat one I gag the whole time! To make matters worse my kiddos LOVE them and eat at least one every day! What am I going to do if they ever ask why I don't eat them? I have been putting half of a banana in my smoothie to try and get myself used to it. Still no luck, I can drink the smoothie but if the banana taste comes through too much I have to choke it down. On the flip side though I am addicted to broccoli and eat it for breakfast on a regular basis :)
