Question #37
ByWell…this post got me thinking about ice cream. Maybe if we all start thinking about ice cream, we’ll feel refreshed on a hot day like today (is it hot where you live?).
My favorite kind of ice cream is of course the recipe I posted here…with a generous amount of hot fudge sauce poured on top. Oh, and sometimes, I melt peanut butter into the hot fudge sauce for a chocolate/peanut butter treat. YUM!
I also really, really love our family get-togethers when my aunts and uncles bring in all kinds of varieties of homemade ice cream. They are all so good, but I usually go for the Butterfinger ice cream.
So tell us…what’s your favorite kind of ice cream (homemade or not)?

Well I have never had homemade ice cream, but my favorite store bought flavor is espresso flake with hot fudge on top. So good. Oh and if it’s in a waffle cone that’s just the ultimate treat!

It’s a toss up for me — but definitely homemade. I’d have to say my homemade vanilla is the best (but I might be biased)… followed closely by our homemade cherry vanilla ice cream! The recipes are posted on my site … http://joyinmykitchen.blogspot.com/search/label/Ice%20Cream

The football players pretty much want to hand me a jeweled crown when I serve Homemade Butterfinger ice cream. It’s the best! :)

Favorites…homemade vanilla or Turkey Hill mint chip…good stuff. :D

Chocolate. With chocolate on top. But, the kind we make most often that I still quite enjoy is vanilla with mini chocolate chips.
And yes, ice cream was a lovely way to beat the heat today.

It got up to 96 today here in Ky. Ugh. My favorite flavor of ice cream is mint chocolate chip!

OREO is the best ice cream.

We love homemade ice cream! Adding the raw milk makes this treat a bit healthier. My kids love peach or chocolate. I love vanilla-macadamia nut which was a family tradition on the Fourth of July as I was growing up. When we go out for ice cream, my favorites are mint chocolate chip and pistachio almond.

My favorite, healthy, no-guilt icecream is vice-cream (vegan icecream) and I am NOT a vegan. Made with raw cashews, maple syrup, vanilla, water, and peanut butter. Sounds strange, but tastes decadent with lots of good raw nut fats and natural maple syrup sweetener. Even my parents who do not experiment much with food, love it!

My current favorite is Bryer’s all natural double fudge brownie. Yum-o!
I’m also partial to butter pecan, praline pecan, and blueberry ice cream.
It is so hot here – we have ice cream or Popsicles almost every afternoon for a snack… It cools us down after outside playtime.

hot? I wish! It’s raining here AGAIN! And no, I don’t live in Seattle. PA is becoming the new Seattle lol. Yes, the whole state is now a city.
Fave ice cream? hmmmm it used to be chocolate, now I love cherry! yumm! i accidentally bought the cherry at the grocery store the other week. I have two fave brands, Haagen Daas and Breyers.

Elizabeth, are you from PA? or are there turkey hill’s throughout the US? I never noticed one outside of PA.

We make homemade ice cream too. I’m a plain, old vanilla gal, but I love a butter pecan as well.

Haagen Dazs 5 (only 5 all-natural ingredients!) with hot fudge and chopped peanuts…oh how wonderful…

Is it ice cream? Then it is my favorite :)
I love, love, love ice cream. My husband LOVE, LOVE, LOVES ice cream. We do not keep it in the house on a weekly basis because we would both be willing to polish off a half-gallon a day. However, when we get some yummy ice cream we really enjoy it! And I would say anything with chocolate is probably the best!

Chocolate chocolate chocolate. I think my favorite might be chocolate. The best is the raw ice cream we make at home, (our recipe is here: http://organichomeschooling.blogspot.com/2009/06/best-chocolate-ice-cream-i-have-ever.html)
Though this week I am going to attempt to recreate a mocha chip that I made a couple years ago. Yum, yum yum. Did I mention that my favorite is chocolate?
