I have electric. I thought I had really moved up in the world when I got a stove with a clock on it :) It also lets me know when I'm done preheating. It's the little things that excite me when I live in a shoebox :)

Ok I'm in tears from laughing so hard!!!!

Now why did I really think you were asking about gas (a bodily function)? I mean you have discussed punctuation before, so why would I be surprised lol.

Well when we built our home, gas prices were astronomical. And we didn't want an outrageous gas bill, so we went w/oil and electric. Then oil prices went astronomical. Who would have thought!!!

So, my name is Danielle and I don't have gas. LOL

Hello. My name is Trisha, and I have gas :) I'm a total gas stove snob and I love it! I'll never go back. I love that gas is hot when you need it, and not when you turn it off, no waiting for coils to heat up. Someday I'll have a duel fuel...gas on top, electric for the oven. *sigh* a girl can dream...

I have gas...and it is troublesome to me. We just moved to a new house and before this, I used electric. With gas, I'm constantly burning things. I've learned to keep it no higher than medium heat, but I don't like the way the flame heats in a particular circle. With electric the whole pan could get evenly hot. And then I'm always paranoid my daughter will turn the knob and leak gas into the house and we will explode in a big ball of gas...

My Name is Denai, and I have GAS!
I didn't grown up having gas... In fact I didn't even want to have gas when I got married, but my hubby grew up in a gas house... so he said it was a must! I hated the oven the whole time I had gas... burned so much....
So when we built our house... I did dual fuel and have GAS on top and Electric for baking...
WOULDN'T have it any other way....
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!!!!!!!!

I'm commenting late. But I just wanted to say that I have never, ever, ever had gas. I don't know what having gas is like. It's kind of sad that all of you have had gas and think it's so great and I just don't know anything about it. Sigh. :P

I grew up with electric, but now I have gas. I like it... but I still miss the flat-top electric stove at my parents' place. I liked the ease of cleaning up. The other thing I don't like about gas is that it heats up our apartment. I don't remember electric doing that.

I grew up in a house with gas, never cared that there was something else until I moved out on my own to an apartment with an electric range top. An aged electric stove coupled with my battered second-hand steel cookware created some "interesting" and sometimes barely edible meals. After a few years, I learned to cook on an electric range, even on a glass-top for a year. But when I moved again just 18 months ago, I was SO elated to see a gas stove again! Food never tasted so good as when not burnt on touchy unkind electric coils.

I know that some seasoned cooks don't have trouble going between electric and gas. But for me it didn't work out so well. My fiance and I are looking to move again this summer. Among the top three things we are looking for: 4 bedrooms, backyard, & gas range. I could even give up the big backyard if we are within walking distance of a good park, but I cannot give on the gas stove.
