Question #16

By Laura · Aug,30 2008

Just so you know…even though we all know junk food is terrible for you (and I go on and on about how and why to eat real food)…there are still some things that I love and indulge in every once in a while.  Like Nacho Cheese Doritos…and Hot Tamales…and Whoppers.

They’re horrible…and I know that…and I don’t eat them much because I know better.  But sometimes I just want something naughty.  Because I do.  And I wish I didn’t, but I do.  Hmph.

So, leave a comment and tell me what your favorite naughty foods are.

And then let’s everybody go eat a carrot.

OH, I wish we could do dorts, but with the red #40 in it, we don’t even buy them (there are great salsa chips at Trader Joes that are ALMOST as good)
I guess just plain old Chocolate is my weakness! OH, and ice cream, but we tend to make our own anyways….

  3. I’m right there with you on the Nacho Cheese doritos – definitely one of my most favorite go-to snacks that I should not eat.

In terms of fast food, I’m a big fan of the Six Dollar burgers at Carl’s Junior (especially the western bacon). You can only IMAGINE how many calories and fat are in those bad boys… so many, I won’t even type it here because I don’t want to cause anyone to faint. :-)

(And yes, I know the calorie count, because if you are going to splurge now and then, it helps to know how BADLY you are splurging).

Other than that, I love popcorn (that I make – NOT microwave popcorn), and oreo cookies (double stuff especially).

Um… yeah..it’s no wonder I desperately need the wii fit in my life! LOL

I like Drumsticks.) The ice cream variety, not the chicken variety.:) They have way too many calories for the small amount of nutritional value…but I love them anyway.

HMMM I wish I only had three weakness! One of my favorites that I usually get at fair time is a funnel cake with powdered sugar. Talk about bad for you! Good thing the state fair is only once a year. I also love Snickers.

  6. Sally says:

Oh how I miss Trader Joe’s and Carl’s Jr. So, I guess without those, my naughty foods are oreos and dark chocolate M&Ms (of course, since they’re DARK choc, they’re healthy, right??). And I don’t consider my ice cream obsession naughty b/c I eat the Slow Churned Dreyer’s/Edy’s version w/ half the fat and low calories.

I guess the overall theme is sweets, huh??

    Ketchup Chips!!! The best!!

  8. Jill says:

Diet Coke. I really know I should stop and drink more water. I really want to – until 11:00 am when I just REALLY want a Diet Coke. I’m weak.

Other than that, I do pretty good as long as I keep the bad stuff out of my house. If I have potato chips, and they are open – stand back! But if they aren’t here, I don’t even crave them. So I never shop hungry and never bring children with me!!

  11. Since being off white sugar (99% wise anyway) i miss my HFCS filled Dr.Pepper. i miss the carbonated burn as it slid down my esophagus. Especially with Pizza. And chocolate. Which is where the 1% sugar sneaks in. either eating a nibble of the kids hersey bar or making Laura’s mudball’s which require chocolate chips. have I mentioned those are delicious?

Oh man, double stuff oreos for sure. Also, the salt and pepper kettle chips. And, of course, chocolate. I’m a big fan of carmel too… the list goes on. But none of these I eat very much.

My really bad weakness? Breakfast cereal. Not even the super sugary kinds, just like, honey bunches of oats and kix and ohs and honey nut cheerios. And if I can get my hands on it, I eat it!

  31. Emily Kay says:

My biggest weakness is peanutbutter fudge, my great grandmother’s recipe. It melts in your mouth! I just have to make it every now and then. It has peanutbutter, sugar, milk, butter, vanilla and karo white corn syrup in it. Any ideas on how to replace the sugar or corn syrup and still have it turn out? You cook the butter, sugar, milk and corn syrup to softball and then stir in the peanutbutter and vanilla. I already use natural peanutbutter and organic milk and butter. If anyone knows how to substitute a healthier sweetener in this kind of recipe, PLEASE let me know:)
