You didn't do anything wrong!! I've made these twice now and they are much more liquidy than it looks in the picture...they turn out just fine....in fact I'm using them for cupcakes for my daughters birthday party tonight... All those unsuspecting girls will be eating healthy muffins instead of cupcakes :D hehehe

Turbinado is better than white or brown processed sugars, but it still isn't as healthy as sucanat. Still...it's better than the bad stuff. :)

So I ended up making a double batch using 3/4 cup of real maple syrup that I had in the fridge. They turned out fine, taste good. My kiddos loved them, we'll see if they pass the Husband test. Only problem I had was I left them in for 18 min and they browned on the bottoms and stuck to the wrappers pretty bad even after completely cooled. So i think with my oven 15 would be better.

I ran out of honey yesterday making your soft pretzel recipe which got rave reviews from everyone! Is it possible so substitute brown sugar for the honey? I havent tried buying sucanat or rapadura yet. But i do have dark brown sugar and reg white, I figure the brown would be better than the white nutritionally? Or maybe not...I'll do some research quickly bc I told my 4 and 5 year olds we'd make muffins before I realized I didn't have anymore honey. They are super excited to help.

Probably just use a teaspoon or so of honey instead of stevia.

Yes, you can substitute any kind of flour one for one.
