Menu Plan for the Week + a Giveaway!

**Be sure to take note of the giveaway at the end of the post!!**

We are having a very heart filled day. I wonder how old my boys will have to be before they start thinking heart shaped food is silly? My 12 year old still likes it (or at least acts like he does), so I think we have a few years left before heart shaped food on Valentine’s day becomes extinct at our house.

I made Matt (and everyone else) a special breakfast of Peach Cobbler this morning. I figure…it’s fruit and I make it with sucanat and whole wheat. It’s definitely healthy enough for breakfast.

peachcobblerforvdaysmI loved seeing Matt’s face when he came down to breakfast!
(The boys were in on it ahead of time and kept it a secret from Daddy!)

Here’s what we’re snacking on this afternoon…

chocolategrahamcrackerheartssmHeart Shaped Homemade Chocolate Graham Crackers

My family would love to eat cobbler for breakfast! =) I even have some peaches in the freezer — just don’t ask me how many years they have been there (they are from a tree at a former residence) – time for them to GO somewhere.

I also left a comment with question on your salmon patties.

Thanks, Laura! I’m off to make some heart-shaped pancakes for late supper.

We’ve been enjoying our canned peaches lately… I’ve been stingy with them because our tree has been in an every-other-year production mode. Which means it might not give us any (many) peaches this year. But– your peach cobbler idea inspires me to use some from our freezer. Or some of the apricots I got from Azure, that I wasn’t sure what to do with. Apricot cobbler? I think we could manage that.

Thanks for the idea (and the ebook giveaway)!

I think the boys may not ever admit it, but I think they’re NEVER too old for heartshaped food. Besides,It’s probably good for them to have a feminine touch from their mom now and then to help them be better husbands.

My MIL felt that she would be selfish training her boys to put the toilet seat down since she was the only female in the house. Ahem. What about ME? His future wife? and his future daughter(s)? Anyway, we’ve come to a good solution in our family over that, but I wish a few things like that had been handled by his mother. :)

I haven’t tried this one yet, but it sure sounds yummy. I’m a fan of breakfast for dinner and dessert for breakfast type foods (so are my kids, of course!). Every recipe I’ve tried from your site has come out fabulous. I think my kids’ favorites are the graham crackers and the cheese crackers. We’ll try this one next!

I think I already posted, but I don’t see my reply. I’m very excited to give this book a try. I’m already starting to substitute some whole wheat flour and natural sugar in desserts, and then I don’t feel guilty for eating them!

Your blog has been one of the highlights of my days ever since stumbling upon it a few months ago. I’ve read your funny stories to my husband and kids, I’ve cooked many of your delicious and simple recipes, and I’ve personally been blessed and encouraged all along the way. Thank you for all you do for us!

I would love to win a copy of your ebook! I have been weeding out refined flour/sugar in exchange for freshly ground wheat and natural sweeteners, and would love some yummy, nourishing dessert recipes!

Cookies are right where we are at the moment…looking for ways to replace the Betty Crocker shortening and tons of sugar ones! Your breakfast cookies are a favorite in these parts. In fact, we ate them this morning!
