I spent the weekend fighting a sinus infection. My Gratituesday post this week may be about how thankful I am for soft kleenexes, because you just don’t realize how much you appreciate the softness until you go through two entire boxes in three days. I promise I’ll write about something else for Gratituesday. But kudos to the folks at Puffs. Many, many thanks.
In other news, I have three weeks to make two puppy costumes, a goat costume and a pig costume. Our boys are in a Three Little Pigs musical, which is going to be SO STINKIN’ CUTE. But, making costumes is not my gift. Do you suppose they could just be super heroes? I have all kinds of super hero costumes already. Picture it: Super Man comes in and saves the Two Little Pigs and The One Little Batman from the Big Bad Wolf and everyone lives happily ever after. The end. I like it. I’m going to talk to the director and see if she’ll go for it.
Just in case she doesn’t, does anyone want to come help me make costumes?

Ooh, so close to being able to help with costumes. We went to a fundraiser last night for a cousin’s kid’s school, and one of the items we bid on was an overnight stay at the York Holiday Inn. We had it right up until the very end! I’ll have to come up with another random way to come visit you. :>)

I’m on the west coast… but, on costumes– I’d recommend seeing how far you can get with inside out sweats of appropriate colors (fleecy, used recently by a professional costumer on a play I choreographed for) and tails/ears. :)

I can’t help with costumes (just the idea of having to do that fills me with fear!!!) but I have to say, that garlic chicken pasta has become our absolute “go to” recipe for leftover chicken. It is the ultimate in comfort food but I don’t have to feel too guilty about it!

I’d LOVE to come help with costumes, they’re really a lot of fun, but I”m afraid southern Alberta is just a bit too long of a commute! Good luck, and remember, if they’re on stage, no one can see the little details anyway!

I see oatmeal on your breakfast menu and I am wondering if you soak that as well. If so how? Oatmeal does a number on my stomach and so I want to try soaking it and I am not sure how. Thanks!

I don’t always remember :( but when I do…I just measure out the oats and water in my pan, then squirt in some lemon juice. I let it sit overnight, they cook it in the morning!
