Meet Lindsey, a New Team Member at HeavenlyHomemakers
ByAs our Heavenly Homemakers site has grown over the past four years, we’ve been very excited to see the volume of emails and comments grow as well. Our community and conversation here at Heavenly Homemakers is a huge blessing to our family and to so many others who participate and share by commenting on posts. Also, I love receiving all of your emails – your encouragement keeps me going. Your questions let me know that what I’m writing and sharing is relevant and helpful for your lives.
I’ve been very determined through the years to answer every email and question possible. I’ve not wanted to give that up because I feel as though my response to you helps our relationship grow and be more real. We may not all know each other “in real life”, but by chatting through emails and comments, we sure have become friends!
But well…as of this week, I have finally admitted defeat. I can’t keep up any more, which ultimately is a great problem to have. But if looking at my email inbox causes me to cry (and I’m a little embarrassed to admit that this has happened a time or two on days I have felt completely overwhelmed with the work load), then it’s possible that something needs to give.
This is why we’ve asked our friend Lindsey to help us out a little bit. She lives right here in town with us and has been a wonderful supporter of Heavenly Homemakers from the beginning. She knows about healthy eating, she knows how I do things, she knows where to find links on our site.
I am still going to personally answer as many questions and emails as I possibly can. If you email me something personal and don’t want me to send it on, no problem! I’m very much still available to answer emails and comment questions.
But for all the questions I get asking me things like “where’s your recipe for x-y-z?” or “would brown sugar work instead of sucanat?” or “what whole wheat flour do you use?” and other such questions in which Lindsey can direct you to a post I’ve already written on that subject, I’m going to send it on for her to answer so that you don’t have to wait forever for me to get around to it. (By the way, be sure to use our Search Feature on the side bar to help find answers to your questions too!)
So, meet Lindsey: Godly wife, mother of two little girls, homemaker, servant, friend.
If you ever receive an email from her, or if she responds to a question you leave on a blog post, you can be assured that I trust her knowledge and fully support what she shares. You can also rejoice with me, knowing that because of Lindsey, my inbox will no longer be so full that you have to wait for two months to hear back from me. (hopefully!)
Thanks Lindsey – you just took a huge weight off my shoulders! (Kinda makes me tear up a little bit again.)

Laura, I do have to say that this just-abought-brought a tear to my eye when I started to read b/c I thought, “oh no! No more Laura?” Anyways, I believe it is wonderful that you are recognizing your limits. God has been working in my life, helping me to see my limits (esp when serving others/the Body). You cannot do everything, and God calls us to give Him and our family first! Bless you Laura! Even though I just started reading your blog about 5-6 months ago, it has truly been a blessing for myself and my family. Thank you!
Welcome Lindsey and I’m looking foward to seeing what you have to add :)

Welcome; How exciting you are growing so much Laura. And, if you need any more help just ask your readers! This is one of the few blogs I read in which people respond so quickly other peoples questions. It’s really neat.

Proud you are my wife ;)

i wonder if t i might leave a suggestion. i don’t know that you forwarding easy questions/emails to lindsey would take much less time than just answering them yourself. and your inbox will still be overwhelming to behold. perhaps lindsay should be the one to go through the questions/emails first, answering all that she can and then forward to you the ones that require you specifically. perhaps readers could enter a specific subject if the email is more sensitive and lindsey could just forward those immediately without reading them. as long as you are attempting to make your life a little easier (and why shouldn’t you?) then you really ought to just go all out here and really make a few things less time consuming for yourself. and that also means more healthy recipes and tips for us! just a thought.
and welcome lindsey!

Thanks for the suggestion. I did give this some thought initially, but there are SO many emails and so many varieties of questions, I didn’t feel that this would be fair to Lindsey to have to decide which to answer and which to pass on to me. Last night when I was forwarding half my inbox into her inbox, I found that it took very little time. SO thankful for her!!

Wonderful! All this is a benefit to those of us who love Laura and what she does. They always say two heads are better than one! And many hands make light work…

I have a question: I am wanting to make your Homemade Potato Chips but I do not have any palm kernal oil. I have coconut and olive oil. Would any of these be a good sub???
