It’s All About Horsey Doovers

Or however you say Hors doeuvres. ;)

Amy is hosting a cool bloggy progressive dinner and today people are linking up at Kate’s with Horsey Doovers…hoorz devours…um, appetizers.

I’m not one to create fancy appetizers. Usually an appetizer at my house consists of licking the mashed potatoes off the beaters before dinner. But…I do have a few recipes for some yummy, snacky appetizers that are fun to prepare and eat.

Ranch Cheese Ball

Homemade Onion Rings

That ranch cheese ball is looking mighty good! I have not had any success making cheese balls, perhaps it is time to try again!

Your cheese ball looks great! And I see we had the same idea about the salsa dip.

They all look so good! I have never tried making a cheese ball but yours sounds so delicious. I think I might have to try it. I love the fact that it’s more frugal than most since it’s not covered in nuts too!

Thanks for joining the progressive dinner!

I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now and I had to comment on your post title! We have a family joke about Hors doeuvres too. My sister called them hors-de-overs once and the name stuck! We’re still calling them that years later.

Your recipes sound so good. I’m never really creative when someone asks me to bring food for a party. I’m bookmarking your recipes so I’m better prepared next time. Thanks!

I love the heart-shaped bowl for the dip! It is amazing what a small detail like that can do to really make an appetizer sparkle.
