Heart Shaped Pancakes
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 eggs
6 T. melted butter
Mix together dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs and melted butter and stir well with a whisk. Use a large spoon to pour batter in the shape of hearts onto a buttered griddle or skillet. (Trial and error…some hearts may not turn out as pretty as others!) Turn pancake over when bubbles begin to form and cook on second side for about 2 minutes.
Cut slices of ham with heart cookie cutter. Brown slightly in a skillet right before serving.
