Does this mean that Austin will be safe in your hands? ;-)

Really...will we get to see the blanket that you made and some of the gifts that the boys worked on now????

**Also, I just worked on a post about 'irregular income'. It's kinda long but I thought you might like to read it. :-)

Be blessed and have a safe trip home!
I'm anxiously awaiting more cookie recipes!!!!

The little one and I are at my parents', we were joined yesterday by hubs who left after dinner to go back and pick corn. It was one of those days where God made it SO EASY to have a great day - little one napped almost the whole way out here (an early nap, no less) which meant she was up the whole rest of the day playing with all the other little kids. And she was plenty tuckered out at bedtime. Perfect. And Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Johnson's was a big pile of icing on a natural sugar cake. :>)

Happy Thanksgiving! We have family in town, and are spending the weekend back and forth between our home and my in-laws. I'll be doing shopping today, but not till the crazy people have all gone home. :) Blessings,

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

I am up at crazy o'clock but that is because I just can't sleep! As another poster mentioned, the only shopping I do on black Friday is online. I absolutely do not venture out to the stores -- too much craziness and crowds for this introvert.

I did not have Thanksgiving at my house this year, which was a good thing since my dishwasher broke on Wednesday -- yikes! I don't mind handwashing dishes at all, but when 23 people descend upon your home, the dishwasher does come in handy. We went to my husband's sister's house and enjoyed a grand time. My 3 children got to play with their cousins, we ate a lovely turkey dinner and pies for dessert. Plus, it was nice to sit back and not have to cook (I plan and make meals for us nearly every day, so the break was nice). However, I will be cooking turkey dinner here for us tomorrow because we like the leftovers and it's my hubby's favorite meal.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hello!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a lovely dinner at my husband's cousin's house. Lots of great food and it was so nice to see family as we really only get to catch up with everyone at family get-togethers like this.

This time of year I look forward to using up all the delicious leftovers.

In case anyone's interested here are 2 of my favorite Turkey leftover recipes --

Turkey Salad

Our day is done here in China.
I started my day with a "Turkey trot". My friend and I ran a 5K sponsered by some Americans so we all didn't have to feel guilty about all the pie we were going to eat later in the day. The hostess had coffee mugs made with cute cartoon turkeys who were trying to run on them! What a hoot!
Then we shared dinner with five families at our neighbors right next door in our apt. building.
She cooked two turkeys (hard to get and expensive here) in a toaster oven! SHe had to cut it in half and stack it up to fit the little oven. (We don't have regular ovens here) Everyone else brought food, so it was so nice to eat a "western" dinner.
My oldest son and his wife have moved to our city too, so it was nice to have 7/11ths of my family here!!

Happy, happy thanksgiving!

We're here at home in Vegas... turkey is done and keeping warm in the oven. Dressing is ready to be baked, potatoes are boiling, just taking a few minutes break before the last hour "rush" of getting it all ready to eat!

And I will totally be shopping tomorrow... IN my jammies... in front of my COMPUTER! Online shopping baby... that's the ONLY kind of Black Friday shopping I ever do!

Happy Thanksgiving Laura!
Right now, I am trying to block out all the happy noices of a big family so that I can concentrate a little. We are waiting for the Grandparents to arrive, my daughter is playing the piano, and everyone is being very LOUD! But, I feel very blessed. I am thankful to know you through blogging. Have a very happy, blessed day!
