You might remember me asking for prayers for our littlest guy, Malachi, and his struggle with his eczema. I’ve appreciated all of your comments and emails expressing concern as well as your prayers for him. I know some of you also have kids who struggle with severe eczema. It is SO NOT FUN.
We’ve continued to work with our chiropractor who has been so gracious and kind. We’re currently working to get to the bottom of some food allergy issues, and just continuing to work to get to the root of the problem.
In the meantime…now that the SUN is shining…we’re throwing Malachi outside as much as possible. It is AMAZING how much the Vitamin D from the sun helps him. Really amazing. (Go God!)
His neck was completely and miserably broken out, inflamed and itchy all winter long. It is now totally clear. His legs are usually covered…and they are mostly better now.
It has provided sweet relief for our sweet boy…as he usually doesn’t sleep well at night because he is so itchy. He’s had several nights recently that he has slept all the way through without waking up. That is one big deal for this three year old. (and his parents)
We’ll continue to pray and seek answers for Malachi. But for now, I’m super grateful that he is feeling better and has been given some relief. :)

For once we can be glad God gave us a “D”!! :) And we keep praying for a “D+”!!
I’m so glad for Malachi and for you, too. He IS a sweetie. Oh, and I got a real hoot out of your “Stinkin’ Birthday” post!! I’m certainly glad I got to meet your boys in person. They’re all precious!

Yay for Malachi! I’m so glad he’s getting sleep, and feeling better!! And I can’t wait to hug that little guy (and his mama!) on Thursday!
(Yes, every comment from now until Thursday is gonna be about my upcoming trip to Nebraska!) (And every comment next week is gonna be about how sad I am that I’m not in NE anymore).

My baby also has a skin disorder so I know how frustrating it can be as a mom to try to figure out what the root of it is.
Malachi is so adorable. I am glad he is feeling some relief.

Poor baby! I hope you find the cause of his allergy soon. Thank God (literally!) that the sun seems to help. That’s one good thing about summer!

Aww, poor baby! My nephew is also plagued with that friggin eczema, so I know how horrible it is. Here’s to a great, itch-free summer!

I’m happy to hear your son is getting some relief. I didn’t go back and read about your endeavors to help him get better, but thought I might offer a little input from a “we’re going thru the same thing” stand point. We have found that for Eli (our 2 year old), he has food allergies – mainly dairy and possibly tomatoes. We’ve been doing an elimination diet for several weeks now and within 5 days of taking him off eggs, soy, gluten and dairy, he was itch-free!!!! I love my itch-free baby, he’s so much happier and he doesn’t look like he’s been rolling around in a prickly patch. We have gradually added back the soy, eggs and gluten over several weeks and haven’t seen any reaction yet. At this point it seems that dairy is most likely his problem. We will wait a few more days and add that back and see what his reaction is. As far as tomatoes – they only make his face break out when he’s had spaghetti or some other tomato sauce and it gets on his skin.
I do hope that whatever it is, you can get it figured out and help him get adequate relief. It’s such a hard position to be in to not know how to make it better for them.

Sweet sleep! YES! I’m so glad for all of you. Been there too my friend. I posted about it on my blog a LONG time ago and got suggestions from all over the place. Chiropractic care, food elimination diet, allergy desensitization, and the wonderful healing from God of the diary allergy, have helped Petey’s little body find respite. We’re down to nuts and occasionally corn and wheat. ~sigh. So I feel for you friend! But he’s a lot better than he was – scratching ’til he bled. I’m going to pray for healing for Malachi.
I blogged about my love of books today. Which was appropriate because I had a blog tour book due today. :)

Oh I remember how wonderful it was when my little guy (now 8) finally was able to get enough relief from the itching to sleep through the night. Prior to that my hubbie and I had to take turns sleeping with him and holding his arms down otherwise the sheets would just be soaked in blood in the morning. My son’s excema is definitely related to food allergies. He is allergic to dairy, gluten, eggs, soy, fish and nuts.
Glad he is feeling better!

Oh, I didn’t know Laura! I’m praying for more D for you too. And sleep, no matter if the kids are well or ill, is ALWAYS something that is worthy of praise!
(Sorry for not adding my link until today… I forgot!)
