Somehow learning to can in someone elses kitchen or sew in someone elses living room was so much more exciting than learning and doing at home with my own mother. I loved being handed a baby to care for or included in dinner preparations. As long as it wasn't assumed that I knew everything, it was a stressfree way to spend time with a good mentor and gain a glimpse of what my life could be someday. Those women will always be a special part of my life. Thanks for giving that to Shannon. The Lord gave me one of these several years ago when I had a 'high needs baby'. She was the only one, outside of myself, that the baby would even let hold him! She was such a gift from God! She loved being around my children and helping in my kitchen! Wonder where I could order a few of these? Yours wouldn't happened to have moved to TN? ;-) Oh what a gift!
