Tuesday and Thursday nights the older boys have basketball practice. Wednesday night is Bible class. Fridays and Saturdays include basketball games. Sundays are full of fellowship and worship times.
And that leaves Mondays.
Once basketball season ends and soccer season begins, we’ll shuffle everything around and our evenings will be full in different ways. But for now, I am really appreciating our Monday evenings off.
Monday nights lately have been so enjoyable. A fun dinner that we can enjoy together for longer than a “hurry and eat so we won’t be late.” Board games. Snacks. Movies. And the past two Mondays? We’ve gone to the gym together and played three-on-three basketball. So what if I’m stiff and sore for days afterward? Playing basketball with all six of us has been sooooo much fun!
Next Monday, we’ve invited a young college couple over for dinner. The Monday after that? Well, who knows? But it’s nice to know that we can look forward to being intentional about family focused time that evening too.
This season in life, with our teenage and pre-teen boys being so active in sports and church activities, we are having a blast. I love watching their character develop as they listen to and work hard for coaches, as they juggle responsibilities, as they interact with friends, and as they minister to others.
Monday nights bring moments with few distractions and lots of crazy goofing off. I cherish it all as I soak up my time with these amazing boys. (And I will continue to talk smack when we play games, because as much as I love them, I still like to win.)
Now your turn. Share what you’re thankful for! Leave a comment on this post letting us know how God is working in your life. If you’ve written a blog post about what you’re thankful for, leave the link in the comments so we can visit your blog to read about it. We love sharing and reading about God’s blessings!

I am grateful for Monday nights too! In my church, that night is set aside for family time so no other meetings are scheduled in order to avoid conflicts. It is nice to have that time together!

Hi Laura! I was hoping you’d post Gratituesday tonight! I’m slap crazy tired at 11:46 pm. But mostly oh, so very thankful for my freezers full of breakfast foods. I am thankful this 6.5 month pregnant body had the stamina to stay up while the house slept. I am thankful for your recipes, some of which I made for the first time, but I know by your track record around here that we will gobble them up! I am thankful from the bottom of my heart for the grace of the Father for multiplying my time & efforts tonight. I am thankful for the 4 little mouths & one daddy mouth that will eat these breakfasts in the coming weeks & the sweet faces those mouths are on!
I am thankful I am now in bed. Goodnight! And thank YOU!!

I am so thankful for the incredibly far distance that God has brought me in the area of overcoming envy, a sin that had such a terrible stronghold in my life! I give Him all the glory!

I am thankful for the precious children God has given us and the joy of being with them each day. When I am intentional about looking into their eyes, really hearing them, I am so thankful that I get to have them in my life. They are each so unique and precious and I thank God for blessing me and making me a mom.

We have a nearly identical schedule. Church 2x on Sunday, Basketball practice Tues & Thurs, Bible class Wednesday, and Basketball games on Saturday. Throw in Cub scout meetings and I’m just done on those weeks. This Friday night, my son turns into a Boy Scout, and those meetings are EVERY MONDAY night. I was looking ahead to basketball being over, only to find out Soccer begins the first week in March. Still, thankful for every blessing.

I’m greatful that every Tuesday, when I read your posts, this song pops into my head and stays there most of the day. I’m grateful for your posts and this song as a wonderful reminder:)

I am thankful for the life of my first grandchild, Scarlett Rose. At the age of 3 wks, her mother found her ‘dead’ with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. There was no breath, no heartbeat, she was cold & purple. Her mother performed CPR, she was air lifted to the hospital. The first few days, we didn’t know IF she would live. The next few days we didn’t know her quality of life, the MRI tests showed over 50% brain damage, especially in the involuntary (breathing & eating). Then the Lord spoke to me through Luke 8…”Do not fear, only believe, and she will be well…Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping…Child, Arise.” Each day after that, she began moving, opening her eyes, then focusing, finally breathing on her own and nursing again after only 17 days. She is 8 months today and is as normal as can be. Since the day she was born, I have been blessed to have her every Tuesday over night. Before this happened, I would pray over her one specific prayer…”Lord, let the LIFE of this child bring glory to You.” She is a True Miracle!

I’m super thankful for many random things this week, and blogged about my Thanksgiving List for the day. Among them are a husband who can fix the things that break around the house, our little puppy, and hay for the animals, and being able to homeschool our kids!
