I agree it is so important to be thankful for the little things also, because little things do become big things when they aren’t working properly. We went through the 2004 hurricanes here in Florida and went 2 weeks straight without electricity. Makes me very grateful for the little things.

Amen! I am grateful that my husband came home today and said that he had survived another round of lay-offs at his company. We live in Michigan where most jobs are somehow tied to the auto industry, my husband’s is no exception. They laid off 400 based on strict seniority — last hired, first fired. Many of us here are on tenderhooks wondering if the lay-offs will eventually reach us and if they do, what will happen. It’s hard to live that way, but God is faithfull and will provide.

God has blessed my husband & I everyday. I go outside and look at our beautiful surroundings that we live in that God created. He sends us so many wonderful guests for our vacation rental more than any other cottage in Big Bear Lake. We have great health, my husband has a good job and I am able to work at home. God takes every step we take with us.

It is a blessing in and of itself to have a moment to be grateful for all the little things! That is what I am grateful for…that I have moments of clarity, when I am driving or teaching, or even taking out the trash, to notice something small and say, “Thank you, Lord!”

living in ‘Hurricane Alley’, when we’re without those things we so often take for granted, they become HUGE things. Thanks for the reminder.

A tv pastor that I respect just challenged everyone to pray and thank God for 5 things that you are thankful for before you go to bed each night. I have been doing that and it is amazing how many things that we can praise him for each day. God is good!
