During the time we’ve had a break from all of our normal routines to travel and see family…and during the time we’ve spent catching up at home and relaxing (relaxing?)…I have been enjoying my boys so, SO much.
While we were in CA, we got to watch some Game Show Network. All the way home and in the days we’ve been home, the boys have been making up their own version of Lingo and Family Feud and other games. (I’ve won $25,000 several different times in the past few days because I am one amazing Lingo player, yes I am.)
What I’m really grateful for today is that our boys play so well together.
Of course they have moments when I have to holler things like, “Heya buddy…if your brother is SCREAMING when you’re doing that…it probably means he wants you to STOP!”
But, even with the fights, they are each other’s best friends. It’s a joy to watch.
Yesterday they spent hours building and playing in a fort that took up the entire upstairs hallway. They were so excited about it and had so much fun that I didn’t even complain every time I had to get down on all fours to crawl through the fort in order to go to the bathroom or switch out laundry. ;)
Here are some pictures our friend Tyler took of these four great buddies playing in the snow a few weeks ago:
Brrr! That is one cold nap.

I love how your boys are perfectly stair-stepped. My only boy is the oldest, and he has two younger sisters. He tells me all the time he wishes he had a brother to play with. So wonderful that they get along so well.

Laura,
You have a beautiful family! I hope that someday you can personally meet NJ Andrea, mom of four boys. I think the two of you would have ALOT in common. I’m grateful for both of you, your husbands, and the hope and future represented in those 8 boys!

Wooowheeee! That is something to be grateful for–when a house full of boys can play well together! I’ve had a few of those days! ;-)
What sweet pics of them in the snow! I/we love the snow!

Laura-
Great post! I agree, as we were in the car for 15 hours the other day I was thankful my children get along so well. There were moments, of course, but it was a great trip!

Boys are wonderful aren’t they? I’ve got three and they play together quite well even though they are still so little.

I am grateful this Tuesday for my family. I can not imagine my life without my dh and children. They are God’s icing for life. They are a testament to His mercy and grace in my life.

You have such nice looking boys, with bright smiles. Kids are so great, where would we be without them?! I hope you have a wonderful day!

This was great to hear as we just found out that baby #4, expected in May, will be another boy. Wow I was shocked! I thought surely we had to have a girl as 3 boys was my limit. (-: We are so excited though, just chuckling quite a bit. (-:

Thank you again for hosting this event. Your boys are adorable, and what an immense blessing that they can all get along in a world full of children who don’t. Siblings are the best things ever, not only when they’re young but when they can grow old and love each other.

I love those pictures!

Laura, I have 4 boys also and there are days I could just scream they fight so much. Fortunately those precious days where they play together nicely outweigh those bad days. ;)

Great Photos, what sweet boys. OK I think I have this, if I want to join in on these neat blogging events I have to make a list and have a plan. So by next Tuesday I promise I will be grateful for something. I am thinking….

I agree that it certainly is something to be grateful when boys play together nicely and seem to really enjoy one anothers company.
BRRRR…. Can’t quite imagine what it is like to be playing in snow as we sit here sweltering in the heat.
Have a great day.

Well, Family Feud is actually a classic game that traces back wayback in the 80’s i guess. It is a nice game anyway.~,,
