Garden Safe Brand Review and Giveaway (worth $100!!)
ByGot bugs?! Yes, I’m pretty sure we all fight bugs here and there. Sometimes we even learn a spiritual lesson from the dreaded beasts.
MANY of you have asked what I would recommend using to fight off unwanted pests in the garden. You KNOW we love to raise our garden organically. My answer usually is to just deal with the bugs. Flick ‘em. Squish ‘em. Scream at ‘em. It’s all in the name of healthy food, you know? At our house, we don’t sprinkle on or spray on anything. We just deal.
But what about when bugs get out of control? Particularly on fruit trees. And the grasshoppers? Grrrr!
The people at Garden Safe Brand knew how much we like to avoid harming the food and soil in our garden with chemicals. That’s why they thought I may be interested in reviewing their products.

I hesitated, but talked to Matt about it. Did we feel okay about doing this review? His answer was a wise one. The fact is, almost all the “Organic” label foods we buy at the store or from our food co-op have been sprayed with something. There do happen to be some products that are safer and well…sometimes necessary. Depending on where you live and what you grow…if you don’t use something, you may lose your entire crop.
And so, Garden Safe sent us a big ol’ boxful of their products. I’ve been waiting to do this review because I STILL haven’t needed to use them. Our garden is looking very healthy this year and so far the hoppers haven’t attacked in full force (knocking on wood won’t help, but um…). So, I’m doing this review without actually having used the product yet, because it’s past time to tell you about them! You may be fighting with bugs that haven’t made there way to my house yet. To me, these products are to be used ONLY WHEN NEEDED. But here’s what I do feel: When/If we need them….we have them…and we will feel okay about using them sparingly.
Garden Safe products are safe to use in ORGANIC GARDENS. I love that. I’m grateful for that. I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to try these products. I would love this kit! My poor rose bush is getting attacked by beetles, and the daily habit of knocking the beetles into soapy water is getting old…but I’m afraid to use other things for fear of it spreading to the grass nearby my kids play in!

Cutworms are destroying my 1+ pound tomatoes! I never thought of spraying anything on them until now, but I’m so desperate to kill them, that I go out at dawn to squish the nasty things!

Wondering if they have a product that would help us win our battle against ants with our strawberry crop, and when our apple tree starts bearing fruit, I hear it’s almost impossible to get fruits without wasp and other problems if you don’t spray. That neem oil product sounds very helpful for many problems, I don’t think we can get their products locally.

Snails and slugs are the most common pests in my garden. I also have an ant invasion every summer. The “beer method” didn’t work for the snails (I guess they figured out what happends when they drink too much…ha! None of the “at-home” remedies have worked so far for ants and I won’t use chemicals. I have pets and children in my yard everyday. So, I could use some organic products that work and still create a safe environment for my kids, pets, and my garden!! Thanks for all the great info!
