Stir-and-Pour Dinner Rolls ~ Freezer Edition
- 4 cups whole wheat flour (I use freshly ground hard white wheat)
- 2 teaspoons active rise yeast
- 2 Tablespoons sucanat or sugar or honey
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 egg (optional)
- ¼ cup heavy cream (optional)
- 2 cups warm water
- Stir all ingredients together.
- Cover and allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
- Pour contents into buttered muffin tins or silicone muffin cups.
- Place filled muffin cups in freezer immediately.
- Once frozen, transfer frozen dough to freezer bags, storing for up to three months.
- To Bake:
- Place frozen dough back in prepared muffin cups.
- Cover and allow dough to thaw 4-6 hours on the counter-top.
- Bake in a 350° for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve right away.
