Children’s Book Giveaway from Julie Cantrell!

By Laura · Nov,16 2009

I love books for my kids that have a Spiritual emphasis.  I love books for my kids that have real photos as illustrations.  I love books that are simply written and easy to understand.  I love books that make a good point and create good discussion with my kids when we’re finished reading!

A few weeks ago the folks at Zonderkids sent me two of Julie Cantrell’s children’s books to review.

GodDayGod is with Me through the Day

GodNightGod is with Me through the Night

All four of my boys loved “helping me review” these books.  (Even my twelve year old!)  The photos in these books are so much fun!  All of the photos are animals.  What kid doesn’t love a picture of a tiger family “snuggling” or a pair of dolphins “laughing”?

The books sparked a great discussion about how God takes care of us no matter where we are and no matter what we’re doing.

And then we had to read the books again.

And again.

Want a chance to win one of these books so that you can read them again and again?  Leave a comment letting me know which of these you think would benefit your family the most!

I’ll draw two random winners (one for each book) on Tuesday,  November 24.

Get to know the author better by visiting  her blog here.

What a fun giveaway! I think the “God is with me through the day” would be a great read for all my kids! Working on teaching them to rely on their relationship with Jesus and helping cultivate that through books with uplifting truths is so good!
    Thank you!

Either book would be beneficial for our family. God is with me through the night would be good for my 4 year who is sometimes ‘scared’ at night, and God is with me through the night would be good for my 6 year old as he goes to school each day and is separated from us.

My daughter is almost two years old, and I’m teaching her right now to pray before she goes to bed and relying on the presence of God through the night if she feels scared. She loves to read books before she goes to spleep these book would be just a wonderful gift. thank you

I really would like either of these books. My 20 mo old loves reading any book but especially those with animals. I think I would choose the day time one if I had to make a choice. I want to get her a book for Christmas anyway, so this would be perfect.

Greetings!! Good picture books are addicting. All seven of my kids still drop everything and run when they hear mommy sit with the younger ones to read a nap time story. I love the look of both. I guess I would choose the Day version for first pick. So many opprtunities arise during the course of every day that give us oppurtunities to see God working. I love to point these things out to my little ones as I walk by the way, as they lie down and rise up. (Of course, they are often the ones who have to remind ME!)

I’d be very happy with either one. But if I had to chose, I’d say “God is with me through the day.” My 2 year old often likes to read first thing in the morning, and that would be a good start for him (and me). Thanks!

I would love these. I am always looking for spiritual books for the kiddies and these would prove useful for keeping my littliest one quiet in church. All my babies hafve been drawn towards real pictures of animals.

They both look good, but I think the daytime book is my first pick.

  16. Mialee says:

Both look great. But I think we’d benefit from the day book – it’s when we have most of our struggles! I should look into buying them! Thanks!

  17. stacy says:

Both look like good books, but, if I had to pick it would be God is with me through the night. My 2 yo is just now starting to be afraid of the dark.

  18. MelissaD says:

God is with me through the night. What kids don’t get fearful sometimes about the dark. It’d be nice to have something to read to our children during those moments, to remind them that God is with them always and is in control.

  19. Katie says:

God is with me through the day. Luckily in this house my boys aren’t scared of the dark.

My kids would enjoy either! But, they sometimes have a hard time when I’m away at all during the day so maybe the “God is with me during the day” book. Thanks!!

  23. Janet says:

Pictures of animals! It wouldn’t matter which one, both my boys love animals, ESPECIALLY my one-year-old. (Even though he thinks everything is a doggie.) If I had to pick, I would go with the daytime, thinking the animals might be doing something rather than sleeping. Thanks!

  24. Corinne says:

Both look like they have adorable pictures! I would choose “God is With Me Through the Day” to use with Sunday School, since my youngest child is 15, and to have on hand for grandbabies!

  25. Bessers says:

Either book would be great, but I think right now “God Is With Me Through the Night” would be best as my son has trouble falling asleep often.

  26. Geri says:

Either would be great. Just yesterday we were talking about how God is with us where ever we go, even with Daddy “at work”. Dad is in Afghanistan, so its always good to remind little ones about the unchanging God we love, and His love for us.

  27. Gabrielle says:

Hi Laura~ Love your blog…I am one that requires a daily check on your blog =) I think either book would be wonderful for my children. They are 8 yrs old and 5 yrs old. My husband is active duty Army and we recently left the East Coast to move all the way to Alaska and my children are of age where the moves are little bit more emotional. So, I think either book will help them to remember that God is with us day or night no matter where we are. Thank you for the great posts!!! Ps we love some applesauce bread!!!!

I think “God is with me throughout the day” would be great for my boys! They are 3 and 4 years old…and I’m trying to instill in them how GOD is with them in their practical daily lives. I am praying for God to teach me easy, tangible, graspable ways to constantly speak His Truth in their hearts, minds and daily lives.

Thanks for the drawing! What fun~

I think we could use the one “God is With Me Through the Night”. We have a few that don’t really care for the dark. :)

Love the idea of both these books! I have a 3, 5 and 7 yr old. All of them love animals and love to read. Nature and especially animals are such a great way to start a conversation about the Creator :) Love your blog!

My one year old absolutely loves puppies and God is with me through the day would be perfect for him and for the little ones I watch in my home. My goal is to be teaching all who are in my house about the love of Jesus.

  39. Thanks for the giveaway! I think we’d love the “God is with me through the Day” book because my 11 month old is just learning his animals and he LOVES dogs! We’d love to have a book with real photos of animals for him.

They both look great but the night story seems like the one the kids may enjoy most since most of our reading is in the evening.

  47. Keli says:

They both look awesome but I think God is with me through the night would be better for us. My 14 month old loves animals and reading. Thanks for the giveaway!

  48. Alice says:

God is with me through the day would probably suit my little ones best. They do have the occasional bad dream or anxiety at night, but the daily frustrations are sometimes difficult (I have 4 boys aged 5 and under!) so this book would back up the things I am trying to teach them!

    [Reply]

  49. Tania says:

Hard choice. Right now we are going through the I am scared of the light through the crack in the door, I am scared if the door is closed or the closet is open, ect. But during the day they need a reminder that God is with them also. They seem to think if I don’t see them crawling on the table or couch or whatever than that is okay. haha They both look great even if I can’t decide. (-:

Oh how fun! I love children’s books with beautiful pictures and meaningful spiritual lessons! I think we would really enjoy the daytime one. We have a three year old we watch (more than) full time and he is going through a difficult, disagreeable stage. Of course we would LOVE the night time one too! :-) Thanks!!!
