With SO MANY great fresh fruits and veggies available this time of year…it’s hard not to get excited!
I think my favorite is a peach. Or corn on the cob. Oh, or fresh tomatoes.
Okay, I can’t decide.
What’s your favorite!?

I’m like you! With a big veggie/fruit garden in my backyard, how can I possibly pick just one? I can’t! But, I *can* choose just one favorite place to get them - my backyard. LOL. The boys and I have especially enjoyed the green beans this year because of our green bean tent and the fact that each family member is needed to get all the fresh green beans. Little guys get them from the sides and inside the tent.. I grab them from the upper sides, and Daddy’s height is needed to get them from the top. They’re easy to prepare, and taste better than anything I’ve ever bought at the grocery store. Thanks for asking.

It’s a tie between strawberries and watermelon for me. I think watermelon would win if I HAD to choose!
And now I need to go to the store…

Banana. Its like dessert in a peel. Fruit is my favorite altogether but I am trying to be a good girl and learn to love more veggies as well.

Favorite fruit-definitely Rainier Cherries.:) I think we consume about 20lbs of them during the short season. A fresh, ripe peach is up there on my list too.
Favorite veggie-I have a number of favorite, but probably green beans and rutabaga are on the top right now.

I’m sorry ladies…but nothing, NOTHING beats a fresh picked tomato!!
Slather mayonnaise on white bread, heavily salt and pepper it, put on thick slices of fresh tomato…now that’s heaven right there.

That’s a tough one! Sweet corn has to be tops… tomatoes (BLTs just aren’t the same without garden tomatoes), cantelope… and zucchini are really growing on me. I’ve found so many different wonderful recipes featuring them. So versatile!

In years past, I probably would have said strawberries.
This year, though, I am loving plums. Oh, they have been so good!

I’ve never been a huge fan of fruits and vegetables, but I’m trying to change my ways. A week ago I purchased a watermelon, which I really had never done before, and I enjoyed it all week long. It was sooooo good. Someone gave me a number of garden tomatoes today at church and the for the first time in my life I sliced it and ate it plain with salt and pepper. It was really good! I guess I’ve always been afraid that I wouldn’t pick out good produce, so I’ve generally stuck with simple things like grapes and bananas, but boy have I been missing out! Anyways, I would say that a good watermelon is probably my favorite!

I like food in general (you could tell by looking at me), but I love strawberries and black cherries. Oh, and peaches.
Fresh tomatoes, butternut squash, sweet corn on the cob, carrots, baby spinach (only fresh on a salad, not cooked to mush) and green beans.
Don’t like peas. Or lima beans. Or Brussels sprouts. Ugh.
