Gratituesday: Sweet and Simple

July 21, 2008

gratituesday22.jpg

I don’t have anything profound or deep to share with you this Gratituesday…just something sweet and simple.

Three years ago we planted a peach tree in our yard.  It has grown bunches and bunches in the past three years, and we were excited this spring when blossoms began forming all over it!  (We had heard that it usually takes about three years for a new tree to produce fruit…so we were really hoping for peaches this year!)

Now, we have cute little peaches growing on our peach tree…and we are SO EXCITED for the day when we can actually try one!

I LOVE God’s goodness.  Whether it’s in the form of something “big” when he provides a blessing to you…or whether it’s just a simple thing like a yummy, sweet peach.

God’s goodness is just so…..good.

What are you grateful for this Gratituesday?  Please share with us!

We planted blackberries a few years ago and this is the first year we are getting berries from them. It is so nice to finally be receiving fruit from them. Your peach tree looks great. I hope you enjoy peaches for many years to come.

Oh, I’m so jealous. I LOVE fresh peaches! You’ll have to be sure to let us all know how they taste as soon as they’re ripe.

We have two peach trees in our yard and I made peach oatmeal muffins last night with some of them. Funny thing is one tree is nice and ripe and the other is still green like yours! LOL!

I wish I had been smarter about the trees I planted in our yard. I picked pretty and now I wish I had fresh fruit. Oh well, I’m sure with a growing family there will be another yard soon. I can’t wait until we live in a house we can have a garden.

Thank you so much for doing this each week, what a blessing to see all the wonderful things people are thankful for and hear good news for a change.

Oh, yummy! I can totally understand being grateful about that! We visited a farm the other day, and the family there had so many fruit trees- apples, pears, plums, figs, huckleberries, cherries, etc. It was amazing and it reaffirmed for me how much I would love to have fruit trees should we ever have a home of our own!

It’s my first week joining in- how fun! Thanks for the opportunity to share what we’re thankful for!

We have so far “put up” 18 quarts of green beans, and there is more “coming on” in the garden! The other day I had posted pictures on my little blog that I started called Blessings and Savings
(-so many of you have given me inspiration to try my hand and join in at it too!)of broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, etc that we were harvesting out of the garden, and now we have beans to add to it too! I am very grateful for the Lord’s blessings!

What a blessing to have a fruit tree! :) My grandma had an avocado tree in her back yard. Next year I’m going to attempt to have a garden. :D We’ll see if we can turn this brown thumbs down gal into 2 green thumbs up! :D
