Because I’ve Got Christmas on the Brain….
ByYes, I know. Christmas is still three months away. I’m just getting excited about it and trying to be ahead of the game (whatever that means).
I just found a couple of deals I wanted to share with you in case you have Christmas on the brain too (or even if you don’t):
For this one…you’ll need to HURRY because it expires the end of September. Yeah, that’s in three days. BUT, we were just talking about Baby Signs around here and I wanted to make sure you saw these Baby Signs coupons. Really though…hurry if you’re interested!
Second…you’ll find a couple of Family Christian Stores coupons here that you can use online. I don’t live close to a FCS…but I always love to poke around in one when I can. Love that store.
So, apparently you need to brace yourself. I’m in the mood for Christmas already and as I come up with ideas and see good deals…I’ll be passing them on to you. I’m as bad as a discount store, huh? The minute Fourth of July ends…they start putting out the Christmas decorations.
Anyone else starting to think about Christmas already?

Oh yes! For sure thinking about Christmas! In fact I am about 1/3 done shopping. Need to finish up making cards, get a letter written and get all my crafty stuff with the kiddos done.

I have the awesome excuse of being a choir director, which allows me to start cracking open Christmas music in July! With all my kids birthdays falling within November and December, I shop all year, picking up things that make me think of my family, rather than trying to make a mad dash at the end of the year. Only problem – I’ve sometimes stashed away presents and totally forgot I had them, not finding them again until after the Christmas season!

Yes, as crazy as it may sound I have been thinking of Christmas not only because we have to get a few more presents for the kids but we are due for our 4th child on Dec. 30th. I sure cant wait for Dec. to come along as much as I love fall.

Yes! I have actually been meaning to ask you where you get your bottles to give your homemade vanilla extract in? My vanilla is still brewing, but definitely wanted to make sure I got containers to put them in. :)

YES!
I’ve been starting to put together the elements for (hopefully) our first Jesse Tree!

I’ve recently had Christmas start in on my brain. With a tiny budget this year I’m crocheting gifts almost entirely from my existing stash of yarn. Taking our four-person family on a train trip from Alabama to California to be with the rest of our family for the holiday is going to take all of our holiday savings, so gifts are fully crafted this year.

I WAS thinking about Christmas this morning :-)
I had to take all the kids with me to the chiropractor and had no other errands, so it almost seemed like the perfect day to go Christmas shopping (their sibling-exchange shopping). Cold front is here, DH is in the field, canning is done(?) — but we didn’t go shopping. Good, since I don’t have a *plan* for what they might *need*… (‘clutter-free’ is what we all need!)
Time to think, think, think – and re-read all the ideas for a Christ-centered Christmas celebration – before the littles give me a mile-long wish list from every catalog :s
Maybe you could blog about that while your boys’ hair grows out for the haircut tutorial??

Yep! I’m due Jan 15th, so I’m going to be getting ready for baby as well as trying to have Christmas ready ahead of time as much as possible. I have a 4 and 2 year old, so am trying to plan ahead and make things simple this year. Share any deals you find!

Yup! I’ve been thinking about Christmas too. We’ve decided to do all homemade gifts this year, and I’m pretty sure all the pickles and fruit preserves I made this summer will be our primary source of gifts. But I still have to come up with stocking stuffers…
Have you ever checked out christianbooks.com? It’s Christian Book Distributers, super low cost bargain basement type prices all year round! I have a friend who used to work for their main warehouse in Massachusetts.

I seriously saw Santa soap dispensers and poinsettia earrings at Sears the other night. I don’t think I can handle Santa in September.

We have three children and we buy them three gifts each. I am done with one child and have 1/3 done for the other two! I have a list (complete w/ pictures, prices and websites!) w/ all the other gifts we need to purchase (only like five or so??) and then we need to plan our crafts etc. I need to sew the baby her own stocking (love stockings!!) and get stuff together to hopefully do our 1st Jesse tree. I always put it off and then get started too late!! I love Christmas, but I could wait for all the stores to put out their stuff. Target had two aisles already dedicated to Christmas (wreaths, cards, ribbon etc) next to the aisles of Halloween/Harvest!!

I just bought all my kids Christmas presents this week. We’re done!!!! All I need to do is parents and inlaws and hubby. I love being done early.

You are so my kind of people. Yep, I am finished shopping for extended family. All I have left is the stocking that my husband and I exchange every year. Our budget is $10 for each of us and man does that get lots of fun. :)
I have my Christmas card design now I just have to cut, glue and stamp. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!:)

I’ve been thinking of Christmas as well. As soon as Hobby Lobby starts displaying their goodies in July my mind gets geared up. I have started shopping for nieces and nephews but not for my own children. To keep things in perspective at our house, we purchase 3 gifts for our children as someone else mentioned. My daughter will tell you if 3 gifts is good enough for Jesus it’s good enough for her. Last year we made a gingerbread nativity scene instead of the gingerbread house. They sell cookie cutters for this but we just cut out the pictures and used that as our cookie template. I encourage everyone to try this new spin on the gingerbread this year. It was great fun coming up with candies to decorate. Toasted coconut makes great hay!!
